Common questions
How many days do you need in Mexico?+
Ten to fourteen days covers Mexico City and one other region — Oaxaca, colonial highlands, or the Riviera — without rushing. Seven days works for CDMX and Oaxaca only, or CDMX and one beach base.
Do I need a visa for Mexico?+
Many nationalities receive an FMM tourist permit on arrival for short stays. Rules depend on your passport — check official INM sources; we do not give visa advice.
Is Mexico expensive?+
Mid-range on the ground runs roughly €55 to €75 per person per day excluding flights — strong value inland but Los Cabos, Tulum, and Cancún Hotel Zone cost more.
What is the best month to visit?+
November to March suits Mexico City, highlands, and Caribbean coast. Whale season in Baja runs December to April. May to October is cheaper but rainier inland and hurricane season on both coasts.
CDMX or Cancún first?+
Either works — open-jaw into MEX and out of CUN (or reverse) saves backtracking. Fly between them; do not bus unless you have two spare days.
