How many days do you need in Peru?+
Fourteen to twenty-one days covers Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, and one add-on such as Amazon or Arequipa without rushing. Ten days works for Lima plus the Inca loop only.
Do I need a visa for Peru?+
Many nationalities enter visa-free for tourism — rules depend on passport and change periodically. Check Migraciones Perú; we do not give visa advice.
Is Peru expensive?+
On the ground it offers strong value — roughly €45 to €65 per person per day at mid-range, excluding flights. Machu Picchu tickets, trains, and Amazon lodges add fixed costs.
What is the best month to visit?+
May to September is dry season in the Andes — best for Machu Picchu and trekking. December to April suits the coast. May to October balances Amazon rain and river access.
Lima or Cusco first?+
Either works — most fly Lima internationally then Cusco. Do not rush Machu Picchu before acclimatising regardless of order.
