Common questions
How many days do you need in Türkiye?+
Seven to ten days covers two or three regions without moving constantly. Four days is an Istanbul city break. Fourteen lets you add the Aegean coast. The limiting factor is domestic transfer time, not distance on the map.
Do I need a visa for Türkiye?+
It depends entirely on your passport — many nationalities apply online for an e-Visa in a few minutes, and some enter visa-free for up to 90 days. Check the official e-Visa portal for your specific case; we do not give visa advice.
Is Türkiye expensive?+
On the ground it is inexpensive by western European standards — roughly €55 to €90 per person per day at a mid-range level, excluding flights. The coast in July and August is the exception and can double that.
What is the best month to visit?+
May and October are the strongest all-round months across the country: warm enough for the coast, cool enough for the cities, and outside the summer price peak. April and September are close behind.
Is it better to fly or take buses between cities?+
Fly anything over about five hours by road, which includes Istanbul to Cappadocia and Istanbul to the coast. Buses are comfortable and good value on shorter legs, and better than their reputation suggests.
